The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
The government is committed to supporting the armed forces community by working with a range of partners who have signed the covenant. The covenant is a national responsibility involving government, businesses, local authorities, charities and the public.
If your organsation would like to make a voluntary pledge to support the armed forces contact our Engagement Team for support and advice, for more infomation visit the Armed Forces Covenant website.
The Covenant Fund is a grant given by the government to projects that will benefit the armed forces and the community.
Projects range from building new nurseries in civilian areas where many armed forces families live, to funding military themed activities that increase understanding between military and civilian communities in the same area.

The 6th annual London Armed Forces Covenant Conference will take place on 11th February 2020 at The Kia Oval from 9.30am.
The conference will bring together representatives of organisations with a role in delivering the promises of the Armed Forces Covenant at local level. It will focus on the basic building blocks of the Covenant and how to turn the promise of fair treatment for all who serve or have served into reality. The aim of the conference is to get as many of our key stakeholders together as we can to discuss the delivery of the covenant at the local level. This conference will concentrate on ‘Collaborative Working’ and cover the following areas:
These conferences have been very useful in the past in helping to identify good practice and, where areas of challenge still lie, exchange ideas on how they can be overcome.
Local government officers are the experts in delivering the Armed Forces Covenant in their area and by sharing successes and challenges with others can work together to improve delivery of the Armed Force Covenant in London and make the lives of our Armed Forces community that much better.
If you would like to attend please RSVP LONDIST-EngagementGroupMailbox@mod.gov.uk by the deadline of 24th January. Please note that places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
