New home opens for Cadets from Barking and Redbridge

A new £700,000 facility for young people in Whipps Cross has been formally opened by Air Marshal Sir David Walker. The specially designed Joint Cadet Centre is home to 35 Cadet Detachment (Inns of Court And City Yeomanry) Army Cadet Force (ACF), and 12F (Walthamstow and Leyton) Squadron RAF Air Cadets. Air Cadets hit the high note to scoop first place at inaugural Lord Mayor’s Cadet Music Competition

Bands from the Sea, Army, and RAF Air Cadets performed in front of the Lord Mayor of London and senior officers from the Armed Forces at the Guildhall on Saturday 9 September to compete for the Lord Mayor’s Cadet Music trophy.
