The HAC held its latest passing off ceremony on Tue 1st August when 25 soldiers joined the Regiment.
The parade marks the culmination of the soldiers’ Phase 1 and 2 training, which takes them from raw recruits to soldiers able to join the ranks of the HAC.
The HAC’s Phase 2 course ends with intense drill sessions to prepare the course both for this parade and the ceremonial role that the HAC fulfils, in addition to its primary function as the Army Reserve’s only Surveillance and Target Acquisition (STA) regiment. The HAC provides Guards of Honour in the City of London and fires Gun Salutes from the Tower of London to mark Royal and State occasions.
Friends and family of the HAC’s newest soldiers were invited to enjoy the parade and all present heard the inspecting officer, Col Ed Dawes OBE, Head of Army Strategic Engagement, pay tribute to the commitment of the men and women now joining the HAC’s ranks, as well as the support they receive from both family and their civilian employers.
