QPR first London Football League team to sign Armed Forces Covenant

Queen’s Park Rangers FC have signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant, the first Football League club in the capital to do so. The Covenant is a promise to ensure no member of the Armed Forces Community faces disadvantage because of their service. Royal Marines Reserve granted Freedom of Wandsworth

The London Borough of Wandsworth have conferred the Freedom of the Borough on the Royal Marines Reserve (City of London). The marines were joined by veterans and cadets to march through the borough accompanied by a Royal Marines band.  The unit was first formed in London in 1948 moving to its current base in Southfields in 2011.
